Danesh Rana is a Partner at Kelly Santini LLP. Danesh combines experience and insight with careful analysis of potential outcomes, he helps clients resolve employment, commercial and insurance disputes.

He maintains a strong focus on the broader business and practical implications of each matter, seeking timely and cost-effective resolutions wherever possible.

Clients value Danesh’s forthright assessment of their circumstances, his ability to guide them through complex and unfamiliar legal proceedings, and his determination to advance their interests toward a satisfactory resolution.

Within D&DCPD’s broader workplace protection and compliance model, Danesh provides an important legal and litigation resource when a client matter moves beyond our non-litigation scope or requires formal legal representation.

For our employer clients, Danesh can assist when workplace disputes escalate into litigation or require legal advice and representation that extends beyond D&DCPD’s compliance, employee-relations and dispute-resolution services.

His employment practice includes wrongful dismissal claims, employment standards matters, human rights disputes, and other employment-related litigation. He also advises employers on proactive measures designed to meet their legal obligations, reduce exposure to future claims and minimize the financial and operational disruption that workplace disputes can create.

This allows D&DCPD to work with clients proactively on workplace compliance, policies, contracts, investigations, employee relations and risk management, while ensuring that appropriate legal counsel is available when a matter requires litigation strategy, formal legal representation or court proceedings.

For our employee clients, Danesh can provide legal advice and representation in employment disputes involving wrongful dismissal, employment standards violations, race, gender and other human rights issues, and related workplace claims.

Where D&DCPD assists an employee in understanding their circumstances, organizing the facts, identifying options or attempting to resolve a workplace issue, Danesh’s legal expertise provides an additional pathway when formal legal proceedings or representation become necessary.

His involvement helps ensure that clients can move from early intervention and practical dispute resolution to formal legal representation when circumstances require it, without losing sight of the broader strategy or desired outcome.

Danesh also has significant experience in commercial litigation. He frequently acts in shareholder, supplier, joint-venture and other business disputes. Drawing on his previous experience as plaintiff counsel, he also advises insurers in the defence of motor vehicle and bodily injury claims.

In each matter, Danesh combines legal analysis with a commercial perspective so that the strategy reflects not only the legal issues, but also the client’s broader interests.

Where disputes can be resolved through negotiation, arbitration or mediation, Danesh works toward practical resolution. When a matter cannot be resolved, he is prepared to proceed to trial.

He has successfully appeared before numerous administrative tribunals, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Danesh’s experience strengthens D&DCPD’s ability to provide clients with continuity when a workplace or business matter develops into a formal legal dispute.

By combining D&DCPD’s workplace protection, compliance, investigation and early-resolution services with access to experienced litigation counsel, clients can receive the level of support appropriate to the stage and complexity of their matter.
