David Capra is the Founder of Capra Mediation Services.  David's practice is built on deep legal experience and a genuine commitment to fair, practical and lasting resolution.

Through his experience as a litigator, David brings a valuable legal perspective to mediation. He understands how disputes develop, how parties assess risk and where meaningful compromise may be possible.

That experience allows him to help participants move beyond entrenched positions, identify the issues that truly matter and work toward outcomes that are practical, durable and fair.

Within D&DCPD’s broader workplace protection and compliance model, David strengthens our ability to help clients resolve workplace and business disputes without immediately resorting to litigation.

For our employer clients, David can assist when workplace conflict has reached a point where a certified mediator is necessary to help the parties move toward resolution.

This may include disputes involving employees, management, workplace relationships, organizational change, termination-related issues or other conflicts where continued disagreement may create legal, financial, operational or reputational risk.

Mediation can provide employers with an opportunity to address disputes confidentially, preserve important working relationships where possible, reduce disruption and better control the cost and uncertainty associated with formal proceedings.

Where D&DCPD has assisted an organization with compliance, employee relations, workplace concerns or early dispute resolution, David can provide an independent mediation process when neutrality between the parties is required.

For our employee clients, David provides a neutral forum in which workplace concerns and disputes can be addressed constructively.

Mediation can allow employees to communicate their concerns, better understand the other party’s position and explore potential resolutions without immediately moving into a formal adversarial process.

His role is not to advocate for either side, but to create a structured process in which both parties can assess their positions, identify common ground and determine whether a mutually acceptable resolution can be reached.

David’s involvement helps D&DCPD provide clients with another important pathway for resolving disputes. Where appropriate, matters can move from early intervention and workplace problem-solving to independent mediation before progressing to arbitration or litigation.

This supports D&DCPD’s broader approach of addressing workplace problems as early and effectively as possible while ensuring that clients have access to experienced professionals when a matter requires specialized dispute-resolution expertise.

David is certified in Mediation and Dispute Resolution through Kompass Professional Development and is a member of ADRIO, the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.

Based in Ottawa, he provides mediation services virtually throughout Ontario, including Toronto, and is licensed to practise in Nunavut.

Through Capra Mediation Services, David’s guiding principle is straightforward: “A Better Way Through Conflict.”

His combination of legal experience, neutrality and practical dispute-resolution skills complements D&DCPD’s focus on prevention, early intervention and effective workplace resolution.
