Pragmatic Tech
Dianna Pieper is the founder and CEO of Innovus Techne, a fractional CIO/CTO and executive advisory practice. She brings more than 30 years of technology leadership experience across 12 industries, including aerospace, defence electronics, energy, telecommunications and financial services.
Her work has ranged from systems development and enterprise architecture to executive leadership. She has led multidisciplinary teams, governed more than $20 million in program and department budgets, and accelerated annual application delivery sevenfold. At ATB Financial, through IBM Canada, she delivered Canada’s first SAP banking solution.
Today, Dianna advises CEOs, boards and leadership teams on pragmatic technology strategy across artificial intelligence, information management, cybersecurity and governance.
Her focus is consistent across every engagement: helping organizations make better decisions, align technology investments with business objectives, and turn strategy into sustainable execution.
Dianna strengthens D&DCPD's ability to support clients where technology, workplace compliance, information governance and organizational risk intersect.
For our employer clients, she can help assess how technology is being selected, governed and used across the organization, including artificial intelligence, employee monitoring systems, information management, cybersecurity, digital platforms and emerging technologies.
Her expertise helps organizations establish practical governance structures, clarify accountability, manage technology-related risk and ensure that technological change supports broader business, workforce and compliance objectives.
Dianna’s involvement is particularly valuable where employers are implementing AI, introducing new workplace technologies, managing sensitive employee or business information, addressing cybersecurity concerns, developing technology governance frameworks or trying to understand the operational and workforce implications of digital transformation.
This allows D&DCPD to combine workplace protection, compliance, employee relations and risk-management expertise with senior-level technology and digital governance advice.
For our employee clients, her expertise can also help us better understand the technology and information systems that may affect workplace rights and responsibilities, including the use of employee data, monitoring technologies, AI-assisted decision-making, information access, cybersecurity and digital workplace practices.
Her insight can assist D&DCPD in identifying the technological context behind a workplace issue and understanding how systems, governance and information practices may affect the employee.
Her involvement ensures organizations receive a more integrated approach to matters where workplace obligations, technology, information, privacy, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence overlap.
Dianna serves on the Technical Committee of Canada’s Digital Governance Council, contributing to national standards for AI governance, information management and digital trust. She holds the CCISO and TOGAF certifications.
As Director of AI and Technology with Minds I Like, and as a board member and mentor supporting TechGirl, she also contributes to the development of the next generation of technology leaders.
Dianna holds a Master of Science in Computing and Information Systems. Her experience has reinforced an important principle: technology problems are rarely only technology problems.
Sustainable outcomes depend on leadership, governance, people and the ability to execute.
