Filip Szadruski LL.B.

Filip Szadurski is the founder of Szadurski Law and an experienced employment lawyer, commercial litigator and workplace investigator.
His legal career began with a renowned full-service firm in the National Capital Region, where he trained in employment law and commercial litigation.
He later developed his practice further with boutique employment law and litigation firms in the Greater Toronto Area and in matters spanning Canada before establishing Szadurski Law.
Filip has extensive experience advising employers on workplace compliance, investigations, employment contracts, compensation arrangements, workplace policies and a broad range of employment-related matters.
He is equally comfortable representing employers and employees in negotiations, executive-level disputes and litigation before courts and administrative tribunals.
Within D&DCPD’s broader workplace protection and compliance model, Filip provides an important legal resource when a workplace matter requires formal legal advice, independent legal representation or litigation expertise.
For our employer clients, Filip can assist when workplace compliance, employee-relations or investigation matters develop into more complex legal issues. His experience includes advising employers on employment agreements, workplace policies, compensation structures, investigations, terminations, executive employment matters and other employment-related disputes.
His litigation background also provides D&DCPD clients with access to experienced legal representation when a matter cannot be resolved through early intervention, negotiation or other non-litigation approaches.
This allows D&DCPD to focus on prevention, workplace compliance, investigations, employee relations and practical resolution while ensuring that clients can access legal counsel when the circumstances require it.
As a certified workplace investigator through the Human Resources Professionals Association, Filip also brings specialized investigation experience to matters involving workplace complaints, misconduct and other sensitive employment issues.
His combination of legal and investigative experience can be particularly valuable where a matter raises both factual and legal complexities.
For our employee clients, Filip can provide legal advice and representation in employment disputes, negotiations and litigation. This may include termination matters, executive employment disputes, contractual issues, workplace complaints and other situations where an employee requires formal legal advice or representation.
Where D&DCPD assists an employee in understanding their workplace circumstances, identifying options, organizing the relevant facts or pursuing an early resolution, Filip can provide an additional level of legal support when the matter requires negotiation by counsel, formal proceedings or litigation.
His involvement helps D&DCPD provide clients with continuity as a workplace matter develops — from prevention and early intervention through investigation, negotiation and, where necessary, formal legal proceedings.
Filip also regularly writes and presents on employment law issues for legal conferences, professional audiences and businesses across Canada, reflecting his strong professional interest in the development and practical application of employment law.
His professional background is distinctive. Before entering law, Filip worked as both a gourmet chef and a social worker.
Those experiences continue to influence his legal practice, particularly his ability to work effectively under pressure, understand complex interpersonal dynamics and provide practical and compassionate representation in difficult circumstances.
Outside of his legal practice, Filip enjoys travelling with his family, spending time outdoors and periodically returning to his culinary roots.
Filip’s experience strengthens D&DCPD’s ability to provide clients with access to experienced employment counsel, litigation support and workplace investigation expertise when a matter requires services beyond our non-litigation scope.
Together, this helps ensure that both employer and employee clients can receive the appropriate level of workplace, investigative and legal support as their circumstances evolve.
