Monica Chang BCom, MEd, CEC, PCC

Monica Chang is the founder of Start with Clarity Consulting, based in Victoria, British Columbia. She works with leaders and teams experiencing conflict, low engagement and strained trust that are affecting working relationships and organizational performance.
Monica specializes in helping organizations address the human and relational side of workplace challenges. Her work focuses on helping leaders and teams understand what is getting in the way of effective collaboration, rebuild productive working relationships and establish a constructive path forward.
Within D&DCPD, Monica strengthens our ability to support organizations after workplace problems have affected relationships, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement or team cohesion.
For our employer clients, Monica can help when a workplace challenge is not simply a matter of policy, compliance or process, but involves how people are communicating, working together and responding to one another.
Her expertise can be particularly valuable following periods of conflict, significant organizational change, difficult workplace events, leadership challenges or situations where trust within a team has deteriorated.
Through executive coaching, team sessions and facilitated conversations, Monica can help leaders and employees address underlying dynamics and develop healthier, more effective ways of working together.
This creates an important complement to D&DCPD’s workplace protection and compliance services. D&DCPD may assist an organization in determining what happened, addressing compliance concerns, conducting or coordinating an investigation, managing employee relations or establishing appropriate workplace expectations.
Monica can then help with a different question: how does the organization move forward effectively once the immediate issue has been addressed?
Her work can assist leaders in strengthening communication, improving their effectiveness with employees and managing difficult interpersonal dynamics. At the team level, she can help employees address strained relationships, improve collaboration and rebuild the trust required for people to work productively together.
Monica’s role is also distinct from formal mediation. Rather than acting primarily as a neutral intermediary to negotiate the settlement of a specific dispute, her work can focus more broadly on leadership development, team dynamics, relationship repair and the behaviours and patterns that affect how people work together over time.
For employees participating in workplace restoration or team-development initiatives, Monica provides a structured environment for constructive conversations, reflection and improved working relationships. This can be particularly valuable where employees need to continue working together after conflict or where a team requires support rebuilding trust and engagement.
Her involvement allows D&DCPD to address an important part of workplace protection that can otherwise be overlooked: resolving the immediate problem is not always enough. Organizations may also need to repair relationships, restore confidence and strengthen how leaders and teams work together so that the same difficulties do not continue.
Monica holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation, a graduate certificate in executive coaching and a Master of Education focused on adult learning and organizational change. She has also completed four years of training in Gestalt leadership and psychology.
Start with Clarity Consulting is a certified women-owned business (WBE).
Monica’s expertise gives D&DCPD clients access to specialized support in leadership effectiveness, team dynamics, workplace relationships, engagement and rebuilding trust.
Together, this allows us to address not only workplace risk and compliance, but also the relationships and leadership practices that influence whether an organization can move forward successfully after a difficult workplace situation.
